Zachary P. Yeoman Landscape Photography

I started photography at a young age, because my father was a photographer. Photography used to be a skilled trade that typically was only pursued for vocational purposes, or for the most skilled of hobbyist. However, with the advent of camera phones, and the amazing developments in the pixel count on phones, even the most novice picture takers can capture breathtaking pictures with a single click on there cellular phone. So why continue to devote so much time, money and effort into such a saturated hobby? Well, I have found that photography like many passions in life goes beyond the 6000 x 4000 pixel image that sits on my cameras sensor after I click the shutter release cable. 

There is a serene time when the alarm I set on my watch to catch the sunrise goes off, the morning dew is still frozen and the first sunlight hits the golden peaks and reflects off the water and all deadlines, meetings or the personal struggles of a sick family member, that occupy my stress level during the week ahead go away and my spirit and mind is filled with the quiet and beautiful process of a new day unfolding, while I wait to click my shutter release cable on my camera. I appreciate photography most for the process of all that goes into getting a great shot. I'm glad my Dad taught me early on to appreciate the process, and not be so focused on the end result.

The galleries contained within this website are the end result of this process. While I find content from the appreciation of my friends and family by an image I take, this gallery to me serves as the end result of hours, days and even weeks exploring the back country and culture of the landscapes captured.
